Abstract
We present a local fermion update algorithm for N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills quantum mechanics which allows simulations in fixed canonical sectors. We discuss some aspects of the physics of this theory, including the appearance of flat directions in the bosonic potential and the metastabilities related to those. In particular, we show that the modulus of the bosonic fields diverges in some of the fermion sectors and for thermal boundary conditions.
