Abstract
This paper presents a workflow for integrating Docker-based applications with
the RPM and Debian packaging environment as well as the systemd init system to form an
integrated solution, shielding users from the complexities of containerization. As an additional
benefit, the Dockerspecific separation of application and surrounding host allows application developers to
focus on a single deployment platform rather than having to deal with sometimes subtle
differences between target platforms, particularly on the side of dynamic libraries.
