Abstract
A search for a new narrow resonance decaying to an electron pair or a muon pair is performed using 13 TeV proton-proton collision data collected in 2015 by the CMS experiment at the LHC Run 2. The dielectron event sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 2.6 fb$^{-1}$ while the dimuon event sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 2.8 fb$^{-1}$. The results are interpreted in terms of the possible presence of a new massive narrow spin 1 boson decaying into electron or muon pairs, for different new physics scenarios beyond the Standard Model.
