Abstract
In this article, I will review how observations performed in extensive air showers are being used to probe hadronic interactions at high energy. I will briefly overview the new studies exploring the connection between the dynamics of the air shower and the multiparticle production, and how this knowledge can be translated into constraints of the high energy hadronic models as well as direct measurements, complementary to, and beyond the reach of, accelerator experiments.

Metadata are provided both in "article" format (very similar to INSPIRE) as this helps creating very compact bibliographies which can be beneficial to authors and readers, and in "proceeding" format which is more detailed and complete.
