I discuss two recent measurements by the ATLAS collaboration at the LHC on transverse energy-energy correlations and on the transverse momentum and rapidity dependence of dijetazimuthal decorrelations at√s=8 TeV. They are based on the 2012 sample with an integrated luminosity of 20.2 fb−1. They are used to determine the strong coupling constant and to probe its running up to scales of order 2 TeV.
