Abstract
We report on the future upgrades of the LHCb detector within the scope of heavy-ion physics. A particular attention will be given to the extension of the fixed-target program as well as the performance in high-occupancy nucleus-nucleus collisions. Those technical descriptions will be followed by a discussion on the prospects for heavy-ion physics in fixed-target and collider mode.
