Abstract
Recent studies of photon-induced processes in ultraperipheral Pbโ€“Pb and protonโ€“proton collisions with the CMS detector play an important role in testing the Standard Model and probing potential new physics. The analysis of ๐›พ๐›พ โ†’ ๐œ+๐œโˆ’ production enables CMS to set the most stringent limits to date on the anomalous magnetic moment of the ๐œ lepton. Using the ๐›พ๐›พ โ†’ ๐‘Š+๐‘Šโˆ’ process, CMS has obtained stringent limits on anomalous quartic gauge couplings.
