Abstract
Ultraperipheral lead-lead collisions at the LHC provide an intense flux of quasi-real photons. Collisions between these photons can yield the production of pairs of $\tau$-leptons. This proceeding presents the first differential fiducial cross-section measurements of photon-induced di-tau production in lead-lead collisions at the LHC. The presented measurements utilise the full LHC Run 2 lead-lead dataset of 1.93 $\rm{nb}^{-1}$ recorded at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV by the ATLAS detector.
