Abstract
In the standard model (SM), electroweak symmetry breaking is realized by the Higgs field, whose quantum excitation is the Higgs boson; through interactions with this field, elementary particles acquire mass. Precise measurements of the Higgs couplings to fermions and gauge bosons therefore provide a key test of both the SM and the Higgs mechanism.
We present recent CMS measurements of Higgs-boson production cross sections and couplings, combining comprehensive Run~2 analyses with the first results from Run 3.
