Abstract
The future of particle physics depends on today’s early career researchers (ECRs), yet many face challenges in their career development, well-being and mental health, inclusivity, and often limited recognition. All of these factors and many more threaten dangerously the long-term stability and future of the field. To identify, highlight, and address these issues, a community-wide ECR initiative was launched with the support of the ECFA ECR Panel. Further supported by a survey of 936 participants, this effort resulted in a 100-page white paper with 55 recommendations and a formal input to the 2026 European Strategy for Particle Physics Update. The effort seeks to build a sustainable, inclusive, and supportive environment for the next generation of particle physicists.
