Abstract
The Phase-II upgrade of the Tile Calorimeter (TileCal) in the ATLAS detector is a key step
toward supporting upcoming high-energy physics research and preparing CERN for the High
Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). A major part of this upgrade focuses on enhancing
detector electronics through the use of radiation-tolerant, transformer-coupled buck converters,
known as Low-Voltage Power Supply (LVPS) boards. These units convert 200 V DC to 10 V
DC, ensuring stable power delivery to the detector systems. To validate their performance under
HL-LHC conditions, a specialized Test Station was developed in collaboration with the University
of the Witwatersrand and iThemba LABS. Given the critical placement of these boards within
the inner barrel of TileCal, a thorough performance screening and certification process has been
established. This involves testing each board using a custom-built test bench that records key
performance parameters, compares them with predefined benchmarks, and certifies compliance
before installation on the detector.
