Abstract
Cosmic ray fluxes encode the physics of Galactic nuclear production, acceleration, transport, and fragmentation. This paper presents high-precision measurements of primary cosmic rays Proton, Helium, Carbon, Oxygen, Neon, Magnesium, Silicon, Sulfur, and Iron as well as measurements of the secondary cosmic rays Lithium, Beryllium, Boron, Fluorine, Phosphorus, and Potassium collected by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) on the International Space Station. Unexpectedly, the nuclei heavier than protons measured by AMS can be categorized into two primary classes and two secondary classes based on their rigidity dependence. Additionally, the propagation properties of heavy cosmic rays differ from those of light cosmic
rays.
