Abstract
We present a European initiative based on a network of research institutions using scientific escape rooms as innovative tools for science communication. Escape rooms provide immersive, narrative-driven environments where participants solve interconnected puzzles inspired by real scientific concepts, experiencing first-hand the logic and collaborative nature of research. Within this network, researchers and educators co-develop modular and portable escape room scenarios spanning fundamental physics and related disciplines. These activities are designed as flexible kits, adaptable to different audiences and settings, including schools, universities, and public events, enabling broad deployment across Europe. A key strength of the initiative is its coordinated, network-based approach. By sharing expertise, designs, and implementation strategies, participating institutions contribute to a common framework that ensures scientific accuracy while allowing local adaptation. This collaboration fosters cross-border exchange and strengthens the role of researchers in public engagement. By combining the engaging power of escape rooms with a structured European collaboration, this initiative offers a scalable model to bring contemporary physics closer to society and highlight the relevance of fundamental research.
