The polarization of charged leptons produced in neutrino-nucleus interactions is an important characteristic of the final state and is relevant for current and future experiments with accelerator and atmospheric neutrinos.
We have implemented the calculation of the final-state charged-lepton polarization vector for individual generated events in charged-current (CC) 1-particle-1-hole
(1p1h, or quasielastic (QE)) and 2p2h nuclear models available in GENIE 3.6.2, including the Smith-Moniz relativistic Fermi gas (SM-RFG) and its extended version with a phenomenological running axial-mass ansatz (SM-RFG+$M_A^\text{run}$), Valencia (1p1h and 2p2h), SuSAv2 (1p1h and 2p2h), and Hartree-Fock (HF)-based models. Most of the considered models provide physical polarization vectors over the full or nearly full phase space. SuSAv2 1p1h exhibits unphysical regions at high neutrino energies, while significant unphysical polarization is found for the Valencia 1p1h model with random phase approximation (RPA) corrections. The implemented polarization information can be used in subsequent simulations of $\tau$ decays and provides an additional observable for testing nuclear interaction models.
