Abstract
The Pierre Auger Observatory is presently undergoing a major upgrade to improve its detection capabilities for ultra-high-energy cosmic rays. Part of the upgrade is the installation of radio antennas at each position of the Surface Detector array, forming a 3000 km$^2$ antenna array for the detection of air showers -- the Radio Detector.
The status and prospects of the Radio Detector are discussed.
