Abstract
The detection of gravitational waves from the merger of binary black holes, binary neutron stars,
neutron star-black hole binaries has started gravitational astronomy. This contribution reviews the
events detected during the first three runs (O1, O2, O3) of Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo
and the impact of the detections on astrophysics and cosmology./
