Abstract
Production of heavy flavour quarks in proton-lead collisions is a powerful tool to understand the properties of matter in
heavy ion collisions and to characterize cold nuclear matter effects. New results from the LHCb experiment on the
measurement of the cross-section of open charm mesons in $p$Pb collisions at the LHC at 5 TeV centre-of-mass energy are presented.
