A rich R-D program to study neutrinos from muon beams is under way.
The implementation of the neutrino factory concept requires a
complete understanding of all parameters involved in the ionization cooling concept. A full study has been done at the MICE experimental facility at RAL. A shortcut to this problem may be the NuStorm proposal, providing neutrino beams from accelerated muons using only conventional accelerator techniques. First results on the experimental evidence of muon cooling via ionization are shown in this paper.
