A POWHEG generator for Deep Inelastic Scattering

Abstract
We present a dedicated parton-shower event generator for Deep Inelastic Scattering (DIS) that is accurate at the next-to-leading order (NLO) in QCD for the differential cross-sections in the DIS kinematic variables. The matching of parton shower and NLO matrix elements is performed with the POWHEG method thanks to a new momentum mapping that fully preserves lepton kinematics. The corresponding results are validated against exact fixed-order and resummed calculations, and applied to obtain predictions for both current (HERA) and future (EIC) observables.
