Abstract
The European Laboratory Directors Group that coordinates the European programme of accelerator Research and Development took recently the decision to establish a working group on sustainability assessment of future accelerators. Working group mandate is to develop guidelines and a minimal set of key indicators pertaining to the methodology and scope of the reporting of sustainability aspects for future HEP projects. A panel of fifteen people has been endorsed by the LDG and is currently committed to prepare an input document for the Update of European Strategy for Particle Physics. The working group includes representatives of the projects of future accelerators and experts on sustainability of large research infrastructures, involved in initiatives like the CERN Sustainability Panel, IFAST, EAJADE, iSAS, STFC Sustainability Task Force, on the ESS Green Infrastructure.
The talk was intended to summarize current status and receive feedbacks on the initiative from the HEP community.
