Abstract
Determining the nature of dark matter is one of the most fundamental problems of particle physics and cosmology. This talk presents recent searches for dark matter particles in simplified and extended dark sectors from the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The results are based on proton-proton collisions recorded at $\sqrt{s} = 13\,\text{TeV}$ with the CMS detector.
