Abstract
The LHCb experiment has obtained several interesting physics results from the $b$ and $c$ quark systems as a function of collision multiplicity. We show the measurement of the excited-to-ground state production ratio of charmonium ($c\bar{c}$) as a function of charged particle multiplicity in proton-proton ($pp$) collisions, the observation of strangeness enhancement from the ratio of $D_s^\pm$ to $D^\pm$ in $p\mathrm{Pb}$ collisions and finally observation of the modification of $b$ hadronisation from the ratio of $B_s^0$ to $B^0$ in $pp$ collisions. These results help us to better understand heavy-quark hadronisation which would allow us to improve the simulation of the production of heavy quarks from hadronic media and could be used to tune event generators (such as Pythia) to better account for the effects of the hadronic medium on the production of hadrons containing heavy quarks.
