Abstract
Any stars permanently loose small amounts of mass during their lifetimes. This mass is propelled
outward at velocities in the range 100 to 3000 π‘˜π‘š/𝑠 at ionization temperatures. This mass flow
is called stellar winds. As cosmic rays permanently and ubiquitously pervade the entire Galaxy,
while impacting on stellar winds, loose energy. This process is known since 70 years. Due to
the prevailing positive charge of cosmic rays, the ambient around the star occupied by the stellar
winds remains positively charged until the charge excess is dissipated by conductive media. This
work calculates the global electric charges deposited by cosmic rays within the termination shock
of the solar wind.
