Abstract
We present a progress report on the calculation of the connected hadronic contribution to the muon $g-2$ with C$^\star$ boundary conditions. For that purpose we use a QCD gauge ensemble with 3+1 flavors and two QCD+QED gauge ensembles with 1+2+1 flavors of dynamical quarks generated by the RC$^\star$ collaboration. We detail the calculation of the vector mass and elaborate on both statistical and systematic errors.
